Release 3.7 Battery Life
T.Russell:
I was on a build that was a few weeks old. When I installed the 3.7 release, my estimated battery life went down. I installed the current build from yesterday and the battery life is the same as the one that is a few weeks old. Does the 3.7 release actually have a shorter battery life, or is it just an issue with the reporting? Isn't the release build one of the current builds that is know to be good?

I'm guessing you have a V1 Fuze? I saw the same with mine.....the estimated battery life went down some....I think it was 45-50 minutes, but I don't remember exactly....I sold mine two days later after I got my V2(which has much better battery life).
The estimated battery life of the V1 was actually less than that of my Clip+'s with 3.7...lol.

Revision 28000 improved battery time on the fuze v1 but cuased problems for a small group of users so it was reverted in the release. If these problems didn't affect you, you should have the same long battery time with a current build, just not the release. We have not yet decided wether to revert it in the trunk too since noone seems to be investigating a proper fix. See http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/11608 for more details on these issues.

The battery life estimate is based solely on the capacity of the battery and a fixed guess as to what the consumption rate is.
Do you have an iPod Video 60/80GB? The two iPod video builds were merged for this release, but the two devices have different battery capacities, so to get the right estimate you have to select the battery capacity yourself.

I could be imagining it but it feels like the battery life is less for me on iRiver H300 series when using Firmware 3.7
