Is there a preferred way to charge a Rockboxed Cowon D2+ ?

At first I hope this is the right place to ask this question (and not the Unsupported Builds > Cowon D2+).

Maybe a strange question at first sight, but I wonder how I should best charge my D2+. Should I just plug in the usb cable (from an usb wall charger) when the D2+ is still turned off ? Or should I turn the player on at first and then in the original Cowon firmware ?

I ask because a few days ago, after not having used the D2+ for some months, I tried it the first way overnight but in the morning the player was completely empty. When I started it was still partly charged. Of course the charger may be defective too.

I have the same question. Actually, I can't seem to get my D2+ to charge in Rockbox or when just plugged in. For some reason it only charges when first booted to the original firmware and then plugged into my wall USB charger. Any info would be appreciated!

Wiki says charging isn't well understood for newer player revisions.  Sounds like you're running into that.

That's how I have been charging my rockboxed D2+. I've found any other method to be unreliable.
