Tweaking the Main Menu
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:24:14 AM »
This is not a feature request, because no one else will need this feature.  It is more of a "how to" request.

How do I patch a shortcut into the main menu?  I'd like to be able to jump straight from the main menu to LCD brightness.  Saving five selects and a bunch of scrolling.

you can put that settin on the quickscreen instead of having to fiddle with the code if you prefer.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

The quickmenu only really works well for binary values, unless you want to devote half the menu to a single item.  It works great for binary settings (am using LCD Mode in the quick menu) but Brightness has 25 levels.  Scrolling through in one direction is kind of silly.

And of course, what do you do when you want more things at your fingertips than the quick menu supports?

If you put the setting at e.g. both top and bottom of the quickscreen you can scroll in both directions.

I think keenerd is aware of that:
