Fuze v2 - Resume playback on startup option?

First, let me say sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere. I tried searching existing topics but didn't come up with much, however this does seem like the kind of general thing that would've been brought up already.

Basically I'm wondering if there's an option to have playback automatically resume upon starting up the player on a Fuze v2. As of now, the track that had been playing when the player was turned off will be paused upon starting the player back up. While searching for info on this, I saw that other players have a "resume playback on startup" option, but I couldn't find this setting anywhere, either in the manual or the actual player.

Does this setting not exist for the Fuze v2 firmware, or am I just missing something?

Wow, so my brain was just at partial working capacity yesterday. I even remember seeing that section while searching the manual for "resume playback," but the pdf has a page break there which separates the header and explanation of the section from the list of options, so I think I   assumed it was listing commands in a particular menu and just skipped to the next result.

Actually, I am searching for exactly this functionality - I want the player to pause upon resuming the playback, but for me it starts playing the track from where it left when it was turned off (without pausing). What should my settings be?

I don't know of a way to do that.

Just have your start screen be the main menu. When you turn on the player again, it will come up in the main menu, then you simply select "resume playback" and you're all set.

That's not paused. That's stopped. There are several functional differences between the two states. You are resuming from a stopped state, not a paused state.

Thanks this works, even though it is not the ideal solution. Ideally, I would like it to return to the previous screen (before turning off) such as radio, for example.  Even for music, it would be better to return to the now playing screen but paused, so that you can easily see where you left last time, instead of "blindly" hitting "resume playback".  
But this is still better than having it start playing, thanks.

That's not paused. That's stopped. There are several functional differences between the two states. You are resuming from a stopped state, not a paused state.

I just tested it...paused a track with 4:00 remaining and shut the player down. I then re-booted the player, and when I selected resume playback, it started back up one second earlier than where I had paused it. That would seem like it was paused , rather than stopped, to me.

No, it's stopped. Try actually stopping a song without shutting down the player, and then choose "resume playback" and it'll resume where you left off.

Seriously, I'm not lying to you. The fact that it's capable of resuming where it left off has nothing to do with whether or not it's paused.
