Nothing with Fuze v2
« on: October 31, 2010, 12:25:07 AM »
i have the new Utility, but it won't autodetect my Fuze. This probably leads to it not letting me do the quick start Complete Installation, nor the minimal installation. I am new to this, so please help a noob out. thanks in advance

EDIT: i am on windows xp

From the manual:

"When first starting Rockbox Utility run “Autodetect”, found in the configuration dialog (File → Configure). Autodetection can detect most player types. If autodetection fails or is unable to detect the mountpoint, make sure to enter the correct values. The mountpoint indicates the location of the player in your filesystem. On Windows, this is the drive letter the player gets assigned, on other systems this is a path in the filesystem."

The manual is an invaluable source if information...

i read the manual. it does not detect it. it is assigned to Drive G in "My Computer" so i go into there and point it to Drive G and it still doesnt get it

EDIT: Okay, it got it and i can run the installation now. but i dont know where to get the .bin file of original firmware. can you provide it or point me to it?

Theres a link in the manual, and I believe also one on the screen asking you to provide a bin.  Clicking either should get you what you need.
