Sansa Clip v1 firmware missing

I tried running the installer utility for my Sansa Clip v1, but it gives me a 404 error. I checked the website for a manual download, and the file's not found.

Would love to be able to install Rockbox, could someone please fix it?

Oh, I see... from http://build.rockbox.org/ I can download it... but from http://www.rockbox.org/download/byhand.cgi I cannot.. I guess I was on the wrong page.

In any case, the installer utility still gets the 404 error, so something's wrong.

Rockbox 3.6 was not released for the Clip v1.

I'm sorry, I don't understand.

The Rockbox Utility has Sansa Clip (stable) in the list of supported installs, so what exactly am I missing then? When I try to install it with the utility, I get a 404 error.

Is there a way to tell it to install an earlier build than 3.6?

You want a more recent build.  At the time that Rockbox 3.6 was released, the Clip v1 was not a supported target.  In Rockbox Utility, try installing the current build instead of "Rockbox Stable".
