« on: October 28, 2010, 09:20:23 PM »
Hi,
Although the words are translated in translation file, I see it in english on my player - sansa Fuze & sansa clip (I use Hebrew language)
How can I fix this?
thanks, Haim

You are free to tag your files however you like.  If the metadata contains Hebrew glyphs then they should appear in the database viewer, provided you are using a font with the necessary glyphs.  Rockbox does not translate strings found in metadata, however.

I don't mean to the tags, I mean to the word "artist" and the word "album" in the menu, they appear in my player in English instead of Hebrew. the tags are okey.

yes the database menus arent translated (annoyingly). You can manually translate them by editing th e/.rockbox/tagnavi.config file though

What is the location of these untranslated words?
If it is on the WPS (While Playing Screen) then it can be translated quite easily.

You would need to edit the theme file manually, but I would be happy to guide you through the process of doing so.

haim is referring to the "sort" categories in the database viewer.  E.g. Database > Artist > Album.   It seems like an oversight to not translate these terms.  I wasn't aware of this until now (since I just use English).

There is a technical reason they aren't translated. Tagnavi needs work

I am aware of a tagnavi.config that allows users to format database queries.  But this doesn't seem to relate since the current topic doesn't have anything to do with metadata per se.

I can imagine that the database code might need some way to detect the selected language and look up appropriate strings but I'm not sure if this is what you mean or not.

tagnavi.config controls everything about that menu

Automatic translation, sorry.

I did not understand!
I changed this file, and it shows me the player small squares, I changed the encoding to UTF8 and then he gave me nothing at all.

How do I change this file will be written in Hebrew artist arists, please help!

--Edit--

Ok, I got along.
