Did I just brick my e260?
« on: October 22, 2010, 04:15:58 PM »
Hi all,

I had installed Rockbox 3.6 on my Sansa e260 some time ago and really liked it.  I haven't upgraded because of the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".  Well, obviously that only goes so far (or else I wouldn't have installed Rockbox in the first place) and I decided to install some new themes.  The first one I tried was lcars and now, whenever I turn it on, I just get :

Panic
stkov main(0)

or sometimes it just hangs at "Scanning disk..."

Either way I can't get my computer to recognize it.  Is there any kind of hard reset I can do or am I out of an MP3 player?

Boot into the original firmware, check the disk for errors, and then reinstall a new rockbox build.  Something get messed up on your disk.

Please forgive my ignorance, how do I boot into the original firmware?  I either get hung up at "Scanning Disk..." or it goes straight to the error code.

Thanks.

EDIT:  I found the answer in the manual (RTFM, right?)  For all those interested, for the E260, press and hold the left button while booting, it was in section 3.13 of the manual.
