Trying to get themes updated
(1/1)
jtrodriguez:
Trying to update a couple themes and running into an issue that is causing the simulator the just exit...
When I open the simulator it states "font 2 not specified" twice and as soon as I try to play a song the simulator shoots out "font 2 not specified" like 4-5 times and exits. I have tried changing/removing the font set for 2 and it still exits with the same error. Any one know why this is?
Also why was there a rollback of the theme changes... I remember after 3.6 theme breaks all the themes were updated with some script and worked fine so I have not check it in a while now that I have I see that the themes were rolled back to before the automated fix...

This is not the case as far as I know.
There is currently two separate themesites. One for 3.6 compatible themes, and one for SVN compatible themes.
Once 3.7 is released I assume we'll be back to simply having the one themesite again.

Don't remember where I grabbed it from but I just remember after those last major changes a script was run against all themes to update themes so I left mine unchanged int a couple weeks ago I check and it was not listed so I googled it and found the one that was uploaded before the script updated the theme :\...
I found the issue though.. it was the playlist viewer syntax had to use a conditional instead of a , separator to dictate what should be shown if there was no info.
it still shows "font not specified" though not sure what that is about
[Saint]:
The fact that it wasn't updated means that the updater script found some erroneous syntax in the original theme that it couldn't handle, so it either didn't try to fix it, or it *did* try to fix it and after that the syntax was no longer valid.
Or, there is a chance that it *was* successfully updated, and then the syntax changed again and your theme was hidden as it was no longer compatible with SVN.
*quoted from the themesite*
"Older themes
If you are running release 3.6 or a svn build before r26641 you should download your themes from here."
Either way it will have always been available through the 3.6 cloned/release branch of the themesite.
As I said in my last post, the themesite was was cloned so that the 3.6 release builds could still install themes via RBUtil, and so that people could still download those old themes manually if they were using the 3.6 release.
There's no secret to it, and they aren't hidden anywhere, the "old" themesite is linked at the top of the "new" one.
Also, the updater script you speak of is located in the Rockbox Source, where it's been since it was released.
rockbox/utils/skinupdater/
(you'll need to do a "make" in this directory (assuming you have a development environment set up), to build the skinupdater binary)
I hope this helps.

What target and themes are they ?
I have most of the old 3.6 themes updated incl. the ones missing on the new themesite.
