iPod video 80GB - Where's the tmi- theme?

Hi,

I just upgraded from 3.3 to 3.6 and was wondering where the tmi- theme went?
It was a unix-like green on black minimalist theme with maximal information on the WPS. I think right now it's changed to just 'terminal', but I can't get used to the new interface, especially since the bottom information disappears frequently.

If its not on the theme site it was probably abandoned.

Does abandoned mean that the theme did not survive the transition to the new version of the Rockbox software?
If so, would it still be possible to make use of the theme on the new version?
If so, is there a place where I can get access to the abandoned themes?

I would suggest contacting the author of Terminal and seeing if they indeed created this theme.

I would really love to, but the Terminal theme seems not to be in the themes:

I can see from the rockbox utility that the author is Jeffrey Rodriguez, but unfortunately I don't have any of his contact info.
Oh well, I think I'll just use the DetailText theme with a cool tron-like font or something (btw, DetailText isn't on the theme selection yet in the utility).

Oh wait, cancel that, the WPS of detailtext looks exactly like that of Terminal, the only difference is that the WPS fills the screen instead of being in a box underneath the main info (I just see the track#, trackname, underneath that the artists, underneath that the album with the year and etc.)

Things that I've done:
- I've tried the settings on different monospace fonts (all under 16pts)
- I've rebooted the device.
- I've deleted the terminal.cfg as well as terminal.wps but still the view is the same.

I think it's time to set the detailtext as not working too :p

There was a major skin engine upgrade shortly after v3.6 was released.  Themes that work with the v3.6 release were moved here: http://themes.rockbox.org/oldsite/www/index.php

Not liking a theme is hardly a reason to say it "doesn't work".
What you're seeing is what the author intended, you don't have to like it

Uhm, I don't think you understand. Not once did I say in my post that I didn't like the theme.
The WPS just looks nothing like the detailtext WPS which is (was?) on the themes page.

I did however ask where I could find the latest documentation to make my own WPS which was compatible with the latest skin engine.

I guess I was curious as to what you meant by "I think it's time to set the detailtext as not working too :p".

What you're seeing is what the theme author intended you to see, it's not the same theme as the one you're looking for, so naturally it will have differences.

I'm simply pointing out that there's no reason to write the theme off as anything other than "different".

I'll have to clarify this with images.
I didn't mean to write off the theme in any way, it's just when I see an example of the detailtext theme and subsequently see this on my iPod WPS, I begin to wonder if that's what the author intended for me to see.
I guess I meant to say 'not working as it should'.

But I'll try to make a WPS, thanks for the info on this

The picture you show is of the fallback builtin theme, which means that loading the theme failed. Maybe you don't have the font it uses?

I too was wondering there the theme went.

Luckily I have a copy of the original    I am using that to learn about themes and to make some needed enhancements that I believe are missing.

Torne is quite correct, the picture you have posted is of the "fallback" (or built in) theme for Rockbox, you'll see this if the theme you're attempting to load fails in some way.

Like scenarios include: Not having the correct fonts installed, theme syntax failure.

Load the theme in the Rockbox Theme Editor and it should tell you exactly what is wrong with the theme, and why it is failing to load.
