You already have the original firmware on the player.  You just need to boot into it.  Take a look at the manual, its all in there.

Was this ever fixed? I just picked up a cheap e260v2 to throw rockbox on and am running into the same issue. Rockbox installs fine. but when I plug in the USB cord it goes into a reboot loop. Unplugging allows it to boot normally and function.

I have reverted back to the OF for now but REALLY want rockbox rockin' this player.
