Sansa e260 v2 reboots ad infinitum
manzanita:
I finally got Rockbox installed on my Sansa e260, and now when I plug it in to USB, it reboots repeatedly. There is no error screen; it just boots back and forth between the starting screen and my database. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
It's a v2 with 3.6 on it.
saratoga:
This was just discussed in IRC. It turns out that 3.6 is too old to work with the current bootloader when you plug in USB. You'll either have to update, install the previous pre-3.6 bootloader, or not insert USB when your player is off.
Edit: to be even more clear, I would just update to the current build. It has full USB support, while 3.6 doesn't.

I did this, and now the USB mode works, but when I turn it on, it hangs at "Committing databse (1/9)"

Random guess: corrupt file system, corrupt files, etc. Try checking the disk for errors.
