as of oct 4th 2010 - do ipod nano 2nd generation and sansa e280 version 2 work?

hi, i read a few past threads in regards to my question/title of this post... found out that the ipod nano 2nd generation has an unstable port and the sansa e280 due to being version 2 doesnt work.

is it still like this as of today?

any news on getting the above players work properly in the NEAR future?
