iPod 4th Generation (Color, U2 Edition) don't start anymore
thewavelength:
Hey ;)
First I want to give a compliment to all developers and active workers on this OS. It's a nice project and a good alternative to the pre-installed OS from the producer.
Today I've installed Rockbox 3.6 on my iPod Classic 4th Generation, the first one with color and with the U2 design. Using the Rockbox Utility, everything was installed in five minutes, I was surprised how well and easy this works. I looked around some minutes in the newly booted installation; everything worked fine. But then I wanted to restart the iPod, and now the iPod doesn't boot. I tried everything, read the manual more than once to look for any missing things, but I couldn't find one.
So I thought that connecting to my PC (Windows XP SP3) will boot it up - no, it doesn't. No reaction. Also I can't load up the buttery by putting it into a normal power socket - there's purely no effect, the screen is blank.
Does someone has any idea why my iPod fails to start? Yes, I know that it's very old, but it would be nice to have some other years fun with it.
Thanks!

Try letting it charge for a while. IIRC some ipods occasionally get stuck when rebooting them with the battery low.
torne:
Turn the hold switch on and then off again, then hold menu and select together until it resets.

Waited more than 4 hours now. No reaction.
Also with the tip from torne, no reaction :/
Thanks anyway.
Edit: It works! I just understand it wrong and pressed MENU and PLAY. Thanks :)
In hope!

By the way, the 4th gen isn't a classic - the classic is only the 6th gen and on.
