Fuze V2 Unable to choose "complete Installation"

(1/1)

StartLIfeEndLife:
New to rockbox but generally not an idiot  ;D

I downloaded the current version of the Utility, did auto detect It found device but did not know the drive so I selected it "D:" in my case and then went to the "quick start" tab. I am unable to select "complete installation" or "minimal installation" as they are grayed out.

Are there more files i need before i can perform these options? i was under the impression from the manual that it would auto install everything i need if i use complete install?

I am very under caffeinated and over tired so I could be missing a simple fact.

--i do have the sansa in the right usb mode

main question: do i need to install the boot loader and original firmware before doing an automatic complete install?
Please advise.

Hi StartLIfeEndLife,

This is because the fuze v2 port is currently deemed "unstable", and there is no stable release for it yet, so you must install the latest subversion build. However this can be easily done by selecting the "Installation" tab, first installing the bootloader, then pressing the button below and following the dialog to install Rockbox.

I've got a similar issue in which my Fuze V2 is recognized under WinXP as a "Portable Media Device" instead of a drive (and thus does not have a drive letter)... when I run RockBoxUtility v1.2.8 I cannot mount the Fuze and cannot complete the installation.

Hi allbread,

This is happening because your player is in MTP mode, and needs to be in MSC mode. Please read the manual (http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansafuzev2/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-70002.1) for details on how to do this.
