Can't remove Rockbox bootloader

(1/1)

CorsairFreak:
Hi all,

I have a SanDisk Sansa E250 V2 that had Rockbox on it which I'm trying to uninstall so I can give it to my father. I used the Rockbox Utility Ver. 1.2.8 to uninstall Rockbox, then when I attempted to uninstall the bootloader I got the message:

--- Quote ---Rockbox Utility can not uninstall the bootloader on this target. Try a normal firmware update to remove the bootloader.
--- End quote ---

After this message I tried to uninstalled the bootloader using Rockbox Utility again, but in administrator mode because I'm using Windows 7. I can't update the firmware using the Sansa Updater because the firmware is already the latest version. I've tried formatting the player multiple times to no avail.

How do I remove the Rockbox bootloader?

Basically you've got the right idea, but don't use the sandisk firmware updater.  Just copy the firmware yourself.

Thank you saratoga it worked perfectly.
