No Partition Found Insert USB Cable and fix it....
colnechris:
Ipod Nano g1.
Formatted to fat32, restored and tried reinstalling rockbox both auto and manually.
I have been racking my brain for hours over this, there is no help that I can find anywhere about it, just a lot of discussions about the problem from 2007.
Has anyone found a permanent fix of workaround for this?
Does anyone know the actual problem?
Everything installs fine, I have checked for errors and its all fine.
It is baffling me and im really tired as its now 4am, supposed to have college in 5 hours and cannot be arsed with that.
Hopefully someone will have some answers for me when I wake up tomorrow and I can get this sorted.
Ipod Nano 1st gen 2gb Black.
FW 1.3.1
installed RB using admin rights.
have searched your forums extensively looking for help but nothing so have signed up in hope.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Was this a Mac-formatted ipod before? If so, did you only format it as fat32, or did you either have itunes restore it on a windows system or did you follow all steps on http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodConversionToFAT32, including installing the correct MBR/partition table?
colnechris:
last night this didnt work, when I woke up this morning I reset my nano and what do you know.
WORKED
Cant explain why but it did.
It was a windows ipod, not mac, tested when I got it. I have never owned an apple product in my life, i only bought the nano 1g for jailbreaking my ps3 and have no intention to use it as an mp3 as I have a tonium pacemaker which is superior in every single way to apples entire range ( im a dj, djing is my thing )
I like the look of this rockbox though, it could tempt me to use the nano more.
It did by the way say that rockbock no installation when it booted but it did go into rockbox and it did allow me to JB my ps3.
Edit - Back to no partition problem.
Edit2 - works when cool, shoved it in my fridge and tried it then it worked.

The temperature dependence makes it sound even more like the discussion I linked.
