GENERIC USB HUB ERROR - Please help!!!

(1/1)

outcasted:
Hi guys!

I recently installed rockbox on my ipod video 5g since I wanted to go beyond what apple's os could offer on my video. I got it installed and was enjoying it. However, now, when i plug in my ipod video to my pc to upload songs, all that registers is a "THIS DEVICE CAN PERFORM FASTER IF PLUGGED INTO A USB 2.0 PORT" message at the bottom right. Furthermore, it doesn't even register as a drive nor does the ipod screen change to the "do not disconnect" screen. However, it does register as it being charged on the rock box menu.

Please! I need to bring this over to a friends house!

Any advice??

Chronon:
You shouldn't see Apple's "Do Not Disconnect" screen unless you boot their firmware before inserting the USB cable.  Is there similar behavior if you use Apple's USB mode instead of Rockbox's?  If so, it could be a flaky cable or a bad port.  Also, try plugging directly into your PC instead of through the hub.
