curious if/when a new 'stable' version of RB will be ready
(1/1)
todd94590:
hello to all,
I have been using RB for 4-5 years; ipod 5.5g, and recently upgraded to 240gig h/d.
I have been very pleased with ver 3.6, and looking at how some of the development has been going (and where it seems to be heading, as an application) I'm wondering if there might be a version 3.65 (or 3.61) before a final move/push to version 4. At times I have tried using current builds within v3.6, but have suffered odd issues/problems
If I posted in the wrong place, or otherwise posted a no-no, forgive me. I studied programming 25+ years ago, just before C became "the" language to use (formerly fluent in pascal, assembly, cobol, fortran), and remain in awe of those who code now.

AlexP:
There will be a 3.7 when a few bugs have been worked out.
Llorean:
Just as a note, major version numbers like 4.0 will be used for changes that change the nature of the software, rather than incremental release updates (debate as to what sort of changes would qualify for a major version number change have happened, but I'm not sure there's been a conclusion).
When 3.9 is reached, it's very likely the next version will be 3.10, then 3.11, unless the plan has changed.

Thank you Alex & Llorean.
