Best big harddrive for an Archos Recorder?
« on: September 23, 2010, 06:32:47 PM »
I'm looking for a big harddrive (100+ gigs) for my Archos Jukebox Recorder. I'm wondering if there are any recommendations? My major concern is power consumption. With that in mind I'm guessing 5400rpm, instead of 7200 rpm? Or is there anything even slower? Any brands preferred?

And is 137 gigs still the largest amount of space that Rockbox can use?

Rockbox will deal with any hard drive size just fine as long as the hardware will.  For the archos this means bigger than 137 GB is possible, but tricky.  See http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/BigDisk

Would it be possible to get a large capacity hard drive and give it multiple partitians?
