« on: September 21, 2010, 09:59:35 PM »
Stupid question and all.

I'm wondering before I go and install Rockbox, Will it work it work with my Sony Xplod headunit.

It has USB support and works with my iPod out of the box.

Cheers

If it mounts the player as a USB MSC device, then a V1 Fuze will work, but a V2 will not (no USB support).

If it mounts only ipods, then nothing will work except an ipod.  If it just takes line out, then the V1 will work but not the V2.

I don't know how it mounts the iPod, whether there is a special way. It does take memory sticks and Sony Walkmans. Also pretty much any USB thing I have tried.

Does it work on the latest generation iPod classic? The 160GB one?

If the "it" in that question means Rockbox then no.

That sucks. Will it be available for patching any time in the future? I used Rockbox on one of my friends iPods and loved it.

Nobody has posted anything about the Classic in quite a while.  I can only assume that nobody is working on it.

An exploit was found ages ago, and code execution is possible - it is just that nobody who wants it has done any work towards getting Rockbox (or anything else) ported.
