sansa e280v1 boots/powers on into rockbox via usb!

  WooHoo! did I miss something?  I just got one of those e280 refurbs from Tigerd and found out it's a v1 even though the back says v2.  Used the utility to install bootloader and rockbox and was pleasantly surpised to find it boot right into rockbox when connected to a usb power cable in my car.  No more forgetting to hold select while starting the car and having to restart the player to make full use of car adapter mode!  I have a rockboxed  e280v2 that I haven't used in a while and is not accessable right now, but I would like to know if it's the v1 that is allowing this usb power capability, or is it a newer bootloader that allows the player to boot into RB without holding select.

WOuld test myself, but I don't have access to the v2 for a while.

Anyway, my new e280 works like a dream in the car,  COOL!  Thanks to the Rockbox team for continuing to make our daps kick ass!

The V1 has had USB for a couple years now.  The V2 got it this summer.

So I updated my e280v2 with the new bootloader version 6 hoping that it would act like my e280v1 and boot straight into RB when plugged into a power source.  Bummer, it still boots the OF.  Am I missing something simple, or is the v1 not there yet?  Do I need to do some patching or something?

For the e200v2, you need to use the v2.0 bootloader and mkamsboot v1.4 to patch a Sansa e200v2 OF.  If you are running release 3.6, you will need to update to a current Rockbox build.

I wonder why my original (very simple) WPS no longer works correctly.  It seems to be completely ignored, but it worked fine before and it's fine on my v1.  I actually made it a long time ago on the old ihp120, then my H320.  Any ideas?

Your theme probably needs to be converted due to the major skin engine syntax changes that occurred after the 3.6 release.  The skinupdater was created to update your WPS to the new syntax.  There is link to a windows version here: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=24907.msg168423#msg168423

Thank you very much!  I will look into that all.  I have been using RB for a very long time, but haven't bothered updating or anything in quite a while.  It's come a long way!  Good stuff, Good stuff!
