Hello,
i have installt the Rockbox 27813 for Clip+ on my Clip+. It runs very well.

Now i want update to a never Version. No never Version up to 27844 runs on my Clip+. When i start it, it comes :

Loading Firmware
Lenght: 7B274
Checksum: 30634E6
Model Name: Cli+
Loading Rockbox.sansa
Sum: 3063566
Bad checksum.   - then the Clip+ closed

I have formatted theCompleted Clip+ and take then the nevest Version 28051 - the same.

When i`ll take the Version 27813 on it, it runs..

What the Problem??

The difference in checksum is 128, so it could be a single-bit error in the memory.

Try to verify the disk anyway (even if you have formatted it already it can not harm)

Can you compare the (exact) size of .rockbox/rockbox.sansa between r27831 and newer versions?

I imagine newer versions will be bigger

Thats right. The newer Version are biger then the 27813. I´ll try to format the Clip+ again

No chance. Its the same Problem. I think, i must run the 27813 Version.

If it is a memory-error you can try altering the checksum and hope that you won't have any problems with the new firmware.

Open .rockbox/rockbox.sansa with an hex editor and change the checksum to the second sum displayed on screen (checksum is in the first 8 bytes, just before or after "cli+")
