How to play multiple videos in sequence?

I see a proposal/patch to enable playing all videos in a directory:

But this was two years ago, with commenting and development off and on since.  Is there any way in the current version to play a set of videos in order without user interaction?  I.e., don't just play one, go back to the menu, manually select the next, etc.

Not currently, no.  I believe this is as mpegplayer is a plugin so doesn't slot into the normal playlisting system, but if someone were to implement playlists for mepgplayer in a good way it'd get straight in
