clip v1: sudden death

hello there
First and foremost i feel i must thank all those who put their efforts into this wonderful project called rockbox. Terrific job yoı have done out there. I simply wouldnt believe until i've seen it.
I have a serious issue tho, my clip was in my pocket while i was listening to music (not locked, keys could have been pressed for long perhaps?) then it suddenly died in the middle of a song. Its been dead since then. Bootloader doesnt work. Plugging a usb charger doesnt power it up either. I have no computer at hand right now (typing all these in my cellphone!). I did read some previous topics but they didnt really reflect my situation because my rockbox installation was fully working and gone dead with no apparent reason
If its just locked up, how long do i have to wait for the battery to run out? And is there any progress in making the clip more stable? I reallh want to use rockbox badly, provided that it doesnt lockup. In fact id offer help with programming but im doing my millitary service right now and can barely get access to a computer at all, and thats just possible on the weekends. Please tell im not left without music for the all week long...

I think the clip v1 is already pretty stable. I haven't had major issues with it, although I'm mostly using my clip+ lately.

The standard thing to try in case of a non-responsive sansa is to hold the power button for some time (or in the case of the clip v1, keep the power/hold button slid up). The player may have gotten into a mode where you can't tell whether it's actually on or off. Try holding it for up to a minute. If it was on, you can probably hear a faint click in the headphones after holding it for about 10-20 seconds. After that you should be able to turn it on normally.

darn..... It worked after finger-itching minute of holding the button. Batteryy is near empty despite being charged just before the lockup... Very mysterious things are going on with this thing. I hope that it never happens again. Thanks for your tip!

Well, it was stuck doing something when it crashed, so it doesn't surprise me too much that the battery level drained while crashed.
