data abort 3080099C
« on: September 01, 2010, 03:15:51 AM »
Hello,

this is my first post so first of all I want to say that I think Rockbox is a great thing and actually played a major role in choosing my player!

I have installed the latest build (r27963) on my Sansa Fuze v2 (Serial Bl1006CBNK-8GB). Installation with rbutil didn't work (the OF kept on booting) so I did it manually which worked fine. However, when trying to play an MP3 (192 kbps CBR) it first works fine. When trying to play the same file again at a later point I get a 'data abort' error with the code 3080099C and the Fuze crashes. When switching back to the OF the same file plays fine. I'm not sure but the error might have occurred after a USB-connection (where the OF is loaded). Any idea how to fix this or do I simply have to wait for the stable port?

Thanks!

I have a similar issue with my Fuze v2. But not with MP3, it's with Musepack SV8. Build is r28058 and I can confirm that Sansa c200v1 plays the same files without problems. Also, SV7 files play without any problem.
I get two different messages:
Code: [Select]
Prefetch abort
at E1FD5F16
FSR 0x8
(domain 0, fault 8)

and if the backlight is off, when the player should play next track it freezes with:
Code: [Select]
Undefined instruction
at 0006CD8

eevan, someone has reported data aborts at the end of the track on a Fuze v1 with Musepack SV8:

It might be worth commenting in that task.

Hi eevan,

adding your information to the flyspray entry is a good idea. This way we can collect all necessary data at one single location.

Some questions from my side:
- Is this -- as described in flyspray -- only happening after seek?
- Do the files (that lead to crash when trying to play them) have ID3v2, ID3v or APE tags or a combination of them?
- Are there files that will crash each time? Or is each file crashing most of the times and being playable some times?

I already tried to debug this effect without any success on my 5G iPod. Without debug support there will be no fix in sight...

Some guesses:
- From what I saw in the flyspray reports the crashes seemed to happen in memset and/or buffering routines. Is the described effect connected to http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/10605?
- Any connection to the AMS CPU used in the Sansa?

Thanks for the suggestion, Chronon and Andree! I added my data in a comment to the task FS#11476 I hope I can help, at least with testing and reporting :)

Andree, I answered your questions in that comment.

And Weinberg, I tested this a bit, and on mu player the error occurs regardless of the presence of the album art in the WPS.
