You don't really need to know a damn thing about coding to patch a build ;)

Have a look here

Hope this helps,

Everything you'll need to know is available through the link I posted earlier.
A tip would be: "Don't jump in!", read...understand (or at least try to ;)), then give it a go.

First step would be setting up your development environment.

well... i understand learning is key. but this isnt my field of expertise. i just kinda want this feature real bad. im guessing its not possible to ask an already experienced rockbox patcher to do this for me and send me a link? (sorry if it sounds super lazy, i dont really have to much time to learn this...)
thanks for the advice thou

It is certainly possible to ask, but, assuming anyone else has any more free time than yourself to do something thay might not be interested in at all is another thing altogether ;)

There is also the "give a man a fish/teach a man to fish" debate.

You have at least, reminded me that I need to update the CygWin Development wiki page...so, that's a bonus I guess.
Thanks :D

If I get some spare time that isn't full of doing the things I need/want to do...I could compile a build for you, but it would really be a one-off thing...then you'd either have to convince someone else to build for you or learn how to compile it yourself anyway.

PS: Are you familiar with Lrcplayer

"Better" is subjective, the important thing is that you don't need to compile a custom (and, from then on unsupported) build to use it...it is already implemented.

Check your players Manual for more details on it specifically.
