Problems installing Rockbox on ipod 5G
« on: August 24, 2010, 04:51:25 AM »
Hello,

yesterday i tried to install rockbox on my ipod 5G 80GB.

OS: Windows 7
Login: Administrator
Ipod: 50GB free

when i connect the IPOD to my computer it is recognized as Harddrive with Driver Letter E:

I started the Rockbox Utility and tried to make a complete installation.

I get an error massage means

"Fehler beim Lesen der Partitionstabelle - möglicherweise kein IPOD"
" Error reading partition-table - probably no IPOD"

i made a some checkups for filesystem and i got no error. All seems to work fine.

Does anybody have an idea, what mistake i made?

By the way: my ipod is running fine with itunes.

Thanks in advance

T.

PS: i just looked on Apples Website.

----
Sie können den iPod classic anhand der letzten drei Stellen der Seriennummer vom iPod (5. Generation) unterscheiden. Die letzten drei Stellen der Seriennummer des iPod classic lauten entweder Y5N, YMU, YMV oder YMX.
----

I think i do have an ipod 6th Generation :-(

Best regards

T.

Unfortunately iPod Classics aren't supported with Rockbox so that's the mistake.
