Transferring game data on rockboy?
« on: August 18, 2010, 02:38:03 PM »
I would like to know if it is possible to switch game data between games on rockboy. Like foresay trading pokemon between games on the pokemon games. I know this is possible with the VBS emulator. If so how is it done?

If all you want do is trade pokemon then copy your save data on to your PC like the above post and try running it on http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gameboy/tgbdual.html trading and then moving your save data back.

What Left4Cake said, but I also believe there was a ported change to VisualBoyAdvance, that would allow you to "link" 2 emulators and roms together for use in like Pokemon Emerald.

Now I may very well be butting in on the conversation, but please note while this is all well and good, it's veering a bit off topic here. Please try to keep the talk of 3rd party tools for games down.

Rockboy does not have link cable support, and unless someone wants to step up and add support for it, it never will.

Steering back on topic, if someone would do that how would it be possible,

would it have to be some sorta of thing were Rockboy connected to an emulator on the PC,
or would it require soldering the usb plugs of different mp3 players together,
or could data be sent by plunging a audio into the audio jacks.

The only way this is sort of thing will actually work would be to share your save data with gnuboy (which Rockboy is based on) and do the link transfer there.

Few of the supported DAPs have USB hosting support, and even for those that do, Rockbox doesn't support USB hosting.
