superman32,

Do the files play normally if you select them from the file browser?
(that would influence my opinion as to what is going on here)

My "guess" which is all I can really do with the information available, is that the database is corrupt, you could try to re-initialise the database "Settings - General Settings - Database - Initialise Now", or perhaps even "Update Now" from the same list "Settings - General Settings - Database - Update Now" may be sufficient.

You can also force the database to rebuild by deleting the .tcd files from .rockbox (preferably from your PC) then rebooting the DAP.

If you can't play the files from within the file browser "Files - <Example Dir> - <Foo> - <Bar> - My File.mp3" then I wouldn't bother with the database however, as the problem would be elsewhere.

Hey St., thanks for your help first off.

I did the db update and initialize to no avail. However, I found that the MP3's aren't listed at all in the File list...but when I browse there with the PC it is there...just as a hidden folder. Would that be the problem?

EDIT: Deleting the tcd files did the trick!!  Thank you sir!!!

Is the folder you are storing the .mp3 files in part of the OF (original firmware) or did you create it? If not a part of the OF I would just suggest changing the attributes so it is no longer hidden, I'm not sure if the OF would play nice and let you do this with one of its own folders however...the Apple OF doesn't seem to mind that, no experience with Sansa however.

Alternatively, you can set "Show Files" to "All" via the quickscreen, and this will show hidden files/folders which are not displayed with "Show Files" set to "Supported" etc.

No problem, happy to help.
