some .fms tags broken in latest simulator?
(1/1)
Eric Draven:
Are some of the Radio tags broken on the newest version of the simulator? Had a perfectly working fms from a previous version of the simulator. Now the %Ti and %Tn display static values even when changing frequencies on the tuner. Even the radio art displayed with %Cd does not change with the latest simulator (used to change with the %C tag, but now %Cd displays once but doesn't change with the frequency). Do I observe correctly?
[Saint]:
Did you compile the simulator yourself?
If not, the "latest version" is over three months old.
%Tc, %Ti, %Tn and %tm all have issues with updating.
You should find that if you exit the FM screen and re-enter it that the values will report correctly.
A bug exists on the tracker for %tm specifically and there is also a rather general bug listed about update issues in the .fms also.
So I believe it is safe to assume this issue is known.
The simulators here are quite old, they are provided out of kindness by rasher primarily for people to test what rockbox is like before installing it, bugs should not be lodged against them.

Eric Draven:
Hi there!
Sorry, I must've not explained myself well. The latest version that I speak of is the one on the link you gave below (http://rasher.dk/rockbox/simulator/), specifically the Aug 11, 2010 'version' (what's the proper name for that anyway?). The one I downloaded last week (Aug 6, 2010 version, whereabouts) had successfully displayed every detail of the fms screen I made. I then updated the simulator, and suddenly the tags I mentioned stopped working. Thus, this inquiry.
Pardon me, because I don't know how to compile the simulator. Exiting and re-entering the FM screen did not help with the tags reporting values correctly. I do, however, appreciate the amount and quality of work rasher puts into his simulator, and can only dream of making the contributions he has made to the community. In no way was I suggesting that the simulator knowingly broke these tags, nor was I expecting rasher to fix these. I simply wanted to know whether some things that were working before, aren't working now. Please accept my apologies if it came across that way.
I would happily wait for a resolution if in fact these tags are broken for now, as I now see they are. Thanks and good day.
