new to Rockbox -- can't create playlist with Sansa e260 v1
eddiehuff:
I have searched the forum and read the manual, and still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have had my Sansa MP3 player for a long time, but just discovered Rockbox. I try to create a playlist with all my songs. I go to the playlist menu and select "create playlist." It seems to insert all my songs. I go to "save current playlist," and it takes me to a screen with a filename already filled in ("/dynamic.m3u8").
According to the manual, now I simply "accept" the filename. But none of the buttons seem to work. When I hit the "select" button, it adds or deletes characters. When I hit the menu/power button, it says, "cancelled." The other buttons either do nothing or something I don't want, such as deleting characters. How do I simply accept the filename? It seems like it must be simple and obvious, but I can't figure it out.
Thanks a lot!

Read the manual :)

As I said, I read the manual. It's not working. When I hit "play" to accept, it takes me back to the submenu. Then when I try to go to a playlist, it says "no playlists."
Just to clarify -- I realize I'm asking two separate questions here. I figured out that "play" = "accept" ... but I had already been hitting "play" accidentally, and it wasn't working. So the manual did help me figure out how to accept a filename ... but even when I do what the manual says, it's still not creating playlists.

I just tried it on the e200v1 and it works correctly. Are you sure you're looking in the folder where you saved the playlist?

Thanks, Saratoga! It seems to be there now. When I went to "files" and then went in the root directory, it started playing the "all songs" playlist automatically. Then when I went back to the playlist menu, the playlist finally showed up.
