SpawnHyuuga:
Thank you Chronon. I came right out thinking that this would be just like Rockdoom - create a loader, and you'd need some or all of the original games files. I am inquiring with Interplay however.... has ANYONE besides me ever played this game?

Llorean:
Yes, and since you need pitch, yaw, rotate, and two-axis strafe plus weapon switching and throttle, there's really not a player with enough free controls.

SpawnHyuuga:
Well I wouldn't think every function is ABSOLUTELY necessary to be made working. But is it possible to combine two button presses to make a different function work like.

Button 1: Action 1
Button 2: Action 2
Button 1+2: Action 3

Sample "cloud" controls:
I'm not real big on the controls, but maybe (I'm using a Sansa Fuze v2...so this is in description for it) - but like the up, down, left, right keys for "scrolling."

I'm not sure about button combining - but maybe using the 'select' button and arrow keys would then shift the view to emulate the 6 DOF. Then just select to fire, and scrollwheel to select weapons?

(by cloud controls, I'm referring to I was thinking about this, no certainties as I'm not a programmer.)

You're not alone - I also played Descent and own the original disc.  A great game, but it never really captured my imagination for some reason.  Also, as I recall, some of the game induced pretty heavy vertigo for me - very odd as I have always been highly resistant/immune to that sort of thing.
