replacing iriver h320 battery

(1/1)

nygritch:
Hello !

first, I want to apologise for my english. I'm french so you'll excuse my mistakes ;)

After some years of good services, the battery of my player started to die. I ordered a new one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190421124839
I saw it's a model compatible for h320 so, it seemed ok. In addition, 2200mah instead of the 1300mah of the original battery, It could be good for the player to run longer, isn't it ?

I followed this tutorial : http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-replace-the-battery-in-your-iriver-h320-or-h340

My player runs under rockbox 3.4.

So when I finished the manipulation, I tried to start the player. The bootloader starts, everything diplayed well, but at the moment the operating system is expected to load, the player shuts down...
And it does the same everytime I tried.
I also tried to plug in on power, or via usb but the same thing happened. Even if the player started to launch the official firmware.

Finally, I switched with the old battery and everything goes well, the player starts well.

I don't know what to do. Somebody have a clue ?

Thanks in advance

That is very strange - it is normally very easy to do the battery in an H300 - what voltage does the bootloader say the battery is?

Elamentri:
Ok, if you open it up and disconnect the hdd, does it display 'ATA Error' or does it repeat the same symptoms?

Jay Solaries:
Verify the booting voltage is above 3.65V. I think the main cause may be from the battery.

In my experience it is common for the battery to arrive lacking enough charge to run the player.  Try this: install the battery, then recharge it using the AC adaptor before trying to run the player.  Good luck!
