external antenna H120
« on: August 01, 2010, 11:34:46 AM »
Hi. I'm wandering is it possible to add an external antenna. Instead  of plunging in head phones i will like to connect external antenna. I'm using my player as a car audio system. Since quality and ability to reproduce really good sound this was a good idea. However, radio reception is nos as good as it could be because the output headphone plug, which connects player and amplifiers is covered with a lot of steel plates. Because of that it could be great if i will be able to connect standard car antenna to this player. I looked into the datasheet of the radio chip and is seems that there is no one antenna connection. Any one know how i should break the track to disconnect antenna from the headphones?

Yes, you just need a transmitter
like: a TuneCast Universal transmitterhttp://www.esurplusstock.com/product_info.php?products_model=T46559-DBL
or a TuneCast III transmitterhttp://www.audio-discounters.com/f8m010.html

Take audio from the line out; solder a 70~80cm wire to the ground of a 3,5mm stereo jack and put it in the phones socket. That's all.
If it doesn't work desolder the wire and try L or R on the jack. I'm not sure, but the ground should be ok.
