Can't delete doomf.wad
nero:
Getting crazy amounts of freezes and data aborts on my iPod nano 1G. Just spent some time on the forum and see that it's no coincidence that the same file that I can't delete is one that's proven to cause these issues.
I used the utility and tried stable, archived and current builds, none of which altered the result.
I'm going to try 3.5.1 now and see what happens.
Nonetheless, I'd like to know how I can delete the file. I've tried Unlocker which never shows it having a handle, renaming it in Windows explorer (XP SP3), which it let's me do but then still doesn't allow me to delete it.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you can't just delete it through your file browser, I'd try a disk check - chkdsk in Windows, fsck.vat in linux

here's what I get:

What happened when you rebooted? Thats kind of the important part. . .
nero:
:) yes, you're right.
chkdsk simply didn't run.
edit...
so I finally got chkdsk to run...had tried with /r as the only switch. in the end it needed /r /f. Oh yeah...and don't cd to K:\ . I ran it out of C: and it finally gave me a volume I could work on.
Here's the output:
--- Code: ---C:\Documents and Settings>chkdsk k: /f /r

I'm happy to say that doomf.wad is gone...also, managed to get another song off there that was causing all sorts of havoc.
So thanks for the tip...and even better, the solution! :)
