sansa 280 v1 won't boot
Dark Horse:
I have Sansa 280 V1 that wont boot. It gets to the rockbox boot screen Says (committing database [4/9] )
and locks up it never gets any further it will hang there until the battery dies or I shut it off I have not been able to make it boot to the original firm ware when I try I get the Sansa boot screen for a minuet or so and then reverts to the rockbox boot and locks at the same point as before. the bottom of the rockbox Screen it says Ver. r26345-100527.
Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? I have not been able to get it to boot enough for the computer to recognize it.
Mark :(
PS I have another E280 v1 and 2 E250v1s that are working great it is just this one that has a problem. ;)
SheepCake:
can you boot to OF and update/reinstall RB?
check the manual but on the fuze and clip its just holding the << arrow when you turn the player on and it goes into OF.
Dark Horse:
No it won't boot into the OF I get the sansa boot screen after a few seconds it changes to the Rockbox boot screen and freezes at the same place as before. Is there a away to make Rockbox skip the database commit at boot up?

Are you sure you're doing it right? If you hold the button you should see the OF, not rockbox.
Dark Horse:
I am sure I have 5 other sansa E200 series players that have been rockboxed for a couple of years with no problems It is just this one that has got something strange going on. I just cycled it 3or 4 times If I hold the << button I get the initial sandisk boot screen but it freezes there until I relase the << button then the screen changes to the rockbox boot screen the window opens that says "committing database [0/9]" It counts up to [4/9] and freezes until I turn it off or the battery dies. the committing database window appears when you reboot after adding or deleting data from the player. I think there might be a problem with the database but I cant make it boot up enough for the computer to recognize the player.
