Play Games on Sansa Clip+ - without RockBox

(1/1)

M.D.:
I recently discovered this nice alternative firmware that is rockbox and instantly tried it out. But I happen not to like it. I mean, it's functions are great and all, but I simply don't like the design of it. The small letters, the wrong sorting of my songs, I'm quite satisfied with the original firmware provided from SanDisk for the Sansa Clip+.

Anyhow, what definetely caught my attention are the games, especially Tetris, Snake and the (I guess non-official) PacBox game. I'd love to have those games with me on my Clip+, but on the other hand I don't want to use rockbox (sorry guys, but hey, I tried  ;D). Is it possible to use these game plugins with the original sansa firmware?

Or, which I guess is much easier to do, is it possible to have the original Sansa firmware load by default, and if I want to start the rockbox firmware I'd push the start button and the rew/back button.

Would be great if someone had a solution for this, I'd love to play Tetris on my MP3 player.  ;D

Chronon:
No it's not possible.  The plugins are designed for Rockbox and won't run without it.

You can use whatever you like on your player, but just to address a couple of points:

1) Rockbox's appearance can be themed.  You can change fonts and layout if you wish.  There are currently 13 themes on the theme site.  If you don't like these you can make your own.

2) Not exactly Rockbox related, but I have found that at least some programs will sync music from bands like "The Beatles" to a directory named "Beatles, The".  I find this behavior kind of odd, but you may like something like this.

M.D.:
Yeah, I should've known I guess.

Different idea: Is it possible to make the rockbox firmware look like the original firmware? All the design plugins I've found have these tiny little fonts that I can barely read...

Chronon:
I was editing while you posted, apparently.  See #1.

However, Rockbox does not aim to be a clone of any other firmware.  Don't expect to exactly replicate the interface of the original firmware.  Larger font is perfectly doable, however.

install the font pack and change the font.
