H10 finally died
(1/1)
mj:
I bought an H10 a couple of years ago and loved it. It just died, or more specifically, had coffee spilled on it to where the touch pad volume doesn't work anymore and the volume is too low to use in the car anymore. I've looked for a new part but am having difficulty locating one so I'm also looking at a new player on which to install rockbox.
My question is: what will be the "best" player to get? Is it a 5th gen iPod just based on price, availability, and parts?
I don't even know what's out there at this point. The H10 was 20 gb so I'm looking for a similar or larger size. Video would be cool, too.
Thank you for the advice.

I might be in the same boat as you, MJ. My h10 20gb touchpad just started going crazy and if I can't fix it, I'll have to get something new. I can't live without an mp3 player! :D I'm thinking about getting a new 160gb ipod classic and just enjoying it as/is until rockbox releases for it. I know the 5.5 ipod 80 supports FLAC, but it's half the capacity and I want a lot of HD space for all those FLAC files.
EDIT: I decided to get a 5th gen 80gb ipod on ebay. 80 gigs should be enough and after learning that rockbox probably won't be coming out for the new 160gb classic anytime soon, I decided to get the 5g.
