1) HD radio refers to a digital radio scheme using AAC-HE audio at about 48kbps streamed over the air. Using a microphone to record FM radio doesn't get you closer to HD radio.
2) Combining two copies of the same stream will not improve quality.

1) I read that HD radio was the dual streaming of both analog and digital audio. So, recording with the microphone would be analog recording, and the built-in FM radio recorder would be digital. That is why I said that it would be closer, since you are getting an analog ( but mono ) record from the mike, and digital off the built-in radio recorder. It's not the same as recording of HD radio ( analog and digital ) , but as close as you are ever going to get.
2) It will sound better. Not improve quality, but sound a bit better. I found this when I had to record with only a mike. Having one radio produced good quality sound, but having two made the recording sound better ( but not improve quality ).
ADC's are wikipedia eh ? Can't trust wikipedia. Can't trust it for everything. But yeh, I will search there for that , thanks.

Digital == AAC. This is like saying if you take your MP3s, convert them to AAC, and then back to MP3 they're sound better because AAC is better then MP3.

1) Analog will always have the better sound quality over digital. In Wav( or a old 1980 music record ) vs MP3, wav is the true uncompressed format in which the quality is much better. MP3, however is the compressed format that takes away the sounds that the human ears cannot hear, so sounds the same, but is actually not as good of quality.
2)Have you ever done this before..? It does sound better. With two radios, the sound is a bit louder, and produces a nice echo effect, or none at all depending on where you placed the radio's, which sounds better in my opinion. ( Which saying 'in my opinion' isn't really anything. ) To your ears it could sound worse, so just depends on the person.

Regardless, this is idea is pretty silly, not possible, and arguments about how HD radio works are off topic here, so I'm locking the thread.
