Scanning through album tracks feature

Hello Rockbox community.

I thought it would be nice if Rockbox would offer a feature that is automatically scanning through the lets say first 5 seconds of all tracks of a selected album. Like you can do with some Compact Disc Players.

I used the search function on the Forum, but couldn't find any discussion regarding that.

What do you think?

I thin k that someone made a plugin to do something similar - a guess the intro game or similar - it was a long time ago though.

It's amazing, that you found this old thread. I read through it and I am a little bit sad that the discussion stopped, because it was very interesting at the beginning. I would really love to have this feature with Rockbox the way bzavala describes it. However, the developers will decide and I will totally accept that decision.

For plugins there is never really any argument - as long as it conforms to the coding guidelines, works on the various different players, has a manual entry etc. then there won't be any opposition if someone does the work.
