Is Rockboy ever going to be improved?
SpawnHyuuga:
Well I was comparing sound vs graphics. Their may or may not be a link. VBA (Visual Boy Advance) is a GBA/GBC/GB emulator for windows. A very small size (<1 MB) that I think was built on C. I'm trying to see if it might be possible to port this and replace Rockboy if it got enough work done on it. I believe you can get a source of it, considering multiple developers picked up working on beyond it's 2004 death.
torne:
VBA is licensed under the GPL and is mostly written in C, though it is compiled as C++ because it uses a few C++ features. Thus, it would be possible to port it, though it would probably be a lot of work.
Very few if any Rockbox targets would be able to run it at an acceptable speed, though.

If you could port it to rockboy, I would be so grateful. If you need any help I will try, though I could only do the easy stuff. Like trying the beta, looking up stuff, researching...that stuff. Maybe some other stuff too.
Which MP3 players would be able to play it? Hopefully Sansa fuze.

As discussed above, and in your PMs with me, asking people to do things for you is unlikely to get you good results. If you want to help, I suggest planning to do everything yourself, and then once you've got a port of it going hope other people take interest and work on it with you.
If you're not that interested, I suggest just buying a gameboy.

Well we won't know until someone tries, but its got a reasonably fast CPU, so at least very simple games would probably work. How simple depends on how well optimized the port is.

Well I do have a gameboy, but the point is to play it on my MP3 which is a lot smaller. The reason I'm not doing this by myself is because I don't understand all the instructions. It's not that I'm just stupid when it comes to computers, I can't do this area of them (same with modding games). I offered to help the best I can, but if that's not enough, then I guess a bunch of patience is.
