FLAC tracks cut off early
« on: July 17, 2010, 01:34:05 PM »
I'm sorry if this is a previously reported problem; I did forum searches based on the keywords that seemed likely to have been used and found nothing similar.

I installed Rockbox 3.6 (version r27025-100621) on my Sansa Fuze v2 and am experiencing early "cutoff" in FLAC tracks, where playback just skips to the next track.  The length of time a track plays may be related to the length of the track itself; it SEEMS as though a shorter song will end after perhaps 20 seconds, and a 20-minute-long track might play for a minute and a half before cutting out.  There does not seem to be a direct 1:1 relationship; some 5-minute tracks play for a minute.

I'm playing music from the File menu; I have not created playlists at this point.

The bug occurs when playing music from either internal memory or the installed SanDisk SD card.

The same tracks play fine when I boot to the Sansa firmware.

128- and 192-mbps mp3s do not seem to be affected; playback is normal.

I have deleted all music and replaced it twice (without actually formatting the player); the problem is recurring.

3.6 wasn't released for the Fuzev2.  r27025 is just an old build.  Update to the current build and see if the problem is still there.
