Iaudio X5: AIFF files still won't play.

I have a new iMac computer. I recorded a short tape using the Line In on the Mac. This was recorded using Garage Band and output to an AIFF File with bit-rate of 1411kbps and 16-bit Stereo Sample rate 44,100kHz. These numbers are identical to WAV files I have recorded on Windows XP before. iTunes reports the bit rate as 1411kbps and finder "Get Info" reports it as : 1,411,200. That last figure is is bits. I was able to write this track to CD successfully using Garage Band. This file that I tried to play on Rockbox was the direct recording from Garage Band. I also downloaded Audacity to try that. The WAV test track from Audacity played.
I am using Rockbox version 3.6.

When making recordings in the future I will evidently have to use Audacity and create WAV recordings if I want the WAV files to work in Rockbox. I wouldn't normally do this, but I don't like having files that aren't usable on some applications. It leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Having just spent days trying to get MS Word to open Windows Write and Lotus Ami Pro word processing files that I wanted to archive (eventually using Virtual Box on Linux and a pristine copy of Windows XP SP2) I an understandably wary of file formats that have flaky support. Rockbox purports to play AIFF files. These are supposed to be Apple's equivalent of WAV files.
As I say this is rather frightening considering that people who use macs and record using them can't get those recordings played by rockbox when rockbox states it can play AIFF files.

I will have to zip the file since I can only attach files of a maximum 128kb in size! It also states that aif can't be left as an attachment. The software I am using insists on living about 3 seconds after each recording I haven't found a way to stop this. I suspect it isn't possible! Zipping shouldn't affect the file in any way, it is lossless after all (or claims to be!). I have tried to send a zip file but it is still too big!

The bug tracker would be a better place. It allows up to 2MB files, which should be fine, only a few seconds worth of AIFF are needed.
