iriver h10 not playing music

Hey all,
Found out about rockbox the other day so dug out my old h10 5GB (It's from the EU so I'm guessing it's MTP, no FM radio) to give it a try. Installed it no problem but and it worked fine but there is no sound. When going to the Database and selecting a song nothing happens. If I should press play while the song is selected rockbox freezes and I have to remove the battery to do anything. Since then I've formatted, reinstalled the iriver firmware, formatted again and tried a dozen other things.
To put the cherry on the top the iriver firmware won't play music now. It's got pretty much the same symptoms. Have I bricked my little h10?
