h120 battery chaerging issue
Jay Solaries:
Today I spent almost four hrs to charge my new installed h120 battery. And then I get voltage 4.13v shown on the boot screen which is quite normal to me. But then when I see main menu of rockbox, the voltage percentage is only 84% which is out of my expectation. Because I installed the same battery for my H340, everything is pretty good! I met this kind of problem for the first time. Anybody got idea about this?
[Saint]:
I assume the battery you installed is of a greater or lesser capacity than the original, and now the discharge curve is out of whack.
I have no idea if your target supports changing the battery capacity "on the fly" in the settings menu, but if it does the setting will be located in:
Settings/General Settings/System/Battery/Battery Capacity
If you change it to a value that more closely reflects the mAh value of the replacement battery, all should be well again.
EDIT: It seems this setting is just to calculate remaining runtime, you'll still want to change it to the correct mAh rating of your battery, but it turns out it didn't have the effect I thought it did...

You need to rebuild after modifying firmware/export/config/<model>.h , it's not possible to change it at runtime
AlexP:
I may be wrong, but I was pretty sure that the battery capacity was just used to calculate the remaining runtime and not percentage.
Jay Solaries:
As far as I know, the batt capacity is only to calculate the remaining runtime for sure, but only for this. Problem is I was wondering if the power supply management module is main cause of this issue, 'cause the PSM (power supply management) of H1XX is much different from H3XX's.
BATT: IPOD 1G 2200MAH 3.7V
Alex,. did you ever met this issue? Is it necessary to replace all the caps and chips in PSM module? Well I mean i can purchase some tan caps and LTNP<XQ in my country, which seems very cheap.
