I have an ipod Nano 1st gen 4 gig with Rockbox Version 3.6
My primary use of my ipod is for listening to a radio show I record on my PC then transfer to the ipod. The show averages approx 5 1/2 hours.
The issue occurs after a few hours of listening (I pause and resume during this time as necessary to interact with co-workers). The player will eventually begin rewinding about 2 or 3 minutes and replay it over and over.
The first time I noticed it, I didn't really think anything of it, I just restarted the show and fast forwarded to the spot I left off and it played fine for the remainder.
It happened again the following day 3 hours into the show. The next day it happened 3 1/2 hours in. Then today it happened again about 4 hours 15 min into the show.
If I let it go, it will continue to repeat the same 2-3 min section. Something else I found odd, the timer will continue to progress as if nothing is out of the ordinary, I watched it repeat 3 times and the timer did not reflect the repeating, it just kept steadily counting.
So far it has happened once every show 4 times that I can remember, prior to that I was still figuring out Rockbox and inadvertently skipped to the next track during shows and had to restart the show and find where I left off which is probably why I did not experience the issue... since then I've discovered the "prevent track skipping" feature which I love!
I've never had this issue before Rockbox. I will continue to monitor the occurrence and report here if it helps troubleshooting.
I realize most folks don't listen to one single audio track for hours, so I imagine this is not an issue with the typical music listener.
Does anyone know of this happening? Could it be a new undiscovered bug?
Oh also the files in question are Mp3s.
