Connecting to windows
« on: June 17, 2010, 01:37:24 PM »
I use rockbox since yesterday on my Clip v1, and I really really like it! I only got one problem. :(

When I connect to the computer, windows sees it as "Portable Device" so I cannot see a drive letter and such. And if I browse to my player on my computer, I can see some folders, (such as Music) but they are all empty. :s .rockbox don't show up too! But when turn on my player, I just can browse the folders and play music.

So I can't view the .rockbox folder on my computer and I hate it? :o

Switch the OF back to MSC mode.

I did that already! :s Can I install new official firmware, and keep rockbox too?

Yes, but you'll have to reinstall rockbox after you update.

Is there anyway to solve my problem?

EDIT:

Now I connect again, and it just show up as I:/ and I can see .rockbox and stuff! Only the whole map 'music' is showed empty. How can that be?

EDIT2:

When I connect now, and look at it in Winamp, it says no music files are in it. :s But if I start player with rockbox (without USB) I can see music, and with the original fimware too. Is there anyway to connect player in rockbox to usb?

Well, it sounds like it's mounting properly.  Maybe Winamp doesn't see hidden folders by default?  It seems like some problem with Winamp, at any rate.
