Untagged Music
« on: June 06, 2010, 06:09:37 PM »
Hello I'm new to using Rockbox. After installing Rockbox to my Sansa mp3 player. I transferred my music and updated the database on Rockbox, but all my music comes up untagged. ??? Does anyone know how to fix this? I can't figure out how to do it myself.

If you haven't tagged your files, using the file browser makes more sense.  The database requires tags.

There are a number of tagging programs around. Mp3tag on Windows and EasyTag on Linux are popular and can help shorten the time to fix tags. It can take quite a bit of work to get them just right if you have a lot of files. It's very useful having good tagging for most music programs.

How do you update the database when you have made changes to the files?

It will automatically update.  However if it gets stuck, you can force an update under the database settings (see manual).
