Can you use a 30 gb logic board with a 120 gb hard drive?
(1/1)

just a quick simple question... the other logic boards are harder to come by.
saratoga:
Logic board for what?
kvnknrd:
ipod video. the one's that aren't 5.5 g. I mean, I see a lot of people go from 30 or 60 gb ipods to much larger drives and Idk if it's safe to assume they all leave their logic boards in place or upgrade to the other one.. basically i bought one and i wanna know if i just bought something useless, again.
saratoga:
Assuming the new drive has the same connector or that you've bought an adapter, it should work. See:

Ok just double checked the auction I got the hard drive from, it says it should work with ALL models.. with that said I can't get my computer or any pc to restore my ipod now that it's all put back together with a 120 gb hard drive and a new logic board.. i get the connect to pc to restore screen. I can get to disk mode by plugging it in and by holding select and play but either time I connect it to the computer, I get the same results (I've tested this with my stock 80 gb hard drive too) I have a check mark on my ipods screen and the computer acts as if nothing was ever plugged in. itunes does not open and there is no ipod in the explorer. there is no mount point. the ipods screen says ok to disconnect with a check mark but for a brief second or two it says do not disconnect but it seems to have no effect on syncing. I am at an endless loop... I received this logic board today in the mail so if this is a hardware issue (logic board) i wanna let the seller know asap
